Day 2: When Will Dick Black Release the Survey

Career Politician Continues To Hide Extreme Views from the Voters

Ashburn, VA – It has now been two days since Shawn Mitchell challenged career politician Dick Black to release his answers to the extreme Virginia Citizens Defense League survey and Delegate Black has failed to respond.

“What is Delegate Black hiding from the voters of the 13^th Senate District,” asked Mitchell campaign manager, Dominic Gabello. “Why won’t he let voters know what his responses were to this extreme survey that earned him the VCDL endorsement earlier this year? Voters have a right to know about this important public safety issue and if Delegate Black supports the extreme positions of VCDL and guns in bars, schools, libraries or recreation centers, or of gutting Virginia’s background check system.

“Delegate Black needs to release the survey now.”

Thank you so much for all of your support throughout this campaign. While the results didn't turn out the way we wanted last night, we ran a tough, spirited campaign that we are extremely proud of.

We started this campaign with a small list of friends and family and have grown that by leaps and bounds. We knocked on more than 30,000 doors, made more than 10,000 phone calls and raised more than $350,000 from more than 450 unique donors. For a first-time candidate, I'd say that's pretty impressive.

I want to say a special thanks to Senator Mark Warner, Governor Tim Kaine, Terry McAuliffe, Senator Mark Herring, Senator Chuck Colgan, Senator Charlie Waddell, Senator John Chichester, Senator Russ Potts, AOBA, NVTC TechPAC, NV/R PAC, DAAR, PWAR, VEA, LEA, Virginia AFL-CIO, Mid-Atlantic Laborers Council, NARAL Pro-Choice VA, Virginia NOW, VPFF, VALCV, VA Sierra Club, the Washington Post and Loudoun Times-Mirror for their support in this campaign.
