Day 7: The Search for Dick Black Continues

Career Politician Continues Hiding From Voters

Ashburn, VA - We’re now a full week into the disappearing act of career politician Dick Black. He not only hasn’t released his answers to the extreme Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL) survey, but now he’s not participating in a tele-town hall with seniors.

“With Halloween fast approaching, the ghosts of Dick Black’s extreme record are starting to catch up to him,” said Mitchell Campaign Manager, Dominic Gabello. “Dick Black’s extreme views on education and birth control are notorious, but its his views on guns that voters are still searching for. Voters want to know - are Dick Black’s views on guns just as extreme as the VCDL, who want to allow guns in schools, bars, libraries and to gut the Virginia State Police Background check system?

“Dick Black can hide from seniors tonight but he can't hide from the voters who are demanding he release his VCDL survey and finally show us how extreme his views on guns really are.”

Thank you so much for all of your support throughout this campaign. While the results didn't turn out the way we wanted last night, we ran a tough, spirited campaign that we are extremely proud of.

We started this campaign with a small list of friends and family and have grown that by leaps and bounds. We knocked on more than 30,000 doors, made more than 10,000 phone calls and raised more than $350,000 from more than 450 unique donors. For a first-time candidate, I'd say that's pretty impressive.

I want to say a special thanks to Senator Mark Warner, Governor Tim Kaine, Terry McAuliffe, Senator Mark Herring, Senator Chuck Colgan, Senator Charlie Waddell, Senator John Chichester, Senator Russ Potts, AOBA, NVTC TechPAC, NV/R PAC, DAAR, PWAR, VEA, LEA, Virginia AFL-CIO, Mid-Atlantic Laborers Council, NARAL Pro-Choice VA, Virginia NOW, VPFF, VALCV, VA Sierra Club, the Washington Post and Loudoun Times-Mirror for their support in this campaign.
